“America the Voiceless” is a new Latina-hosted podcast that looks into the barriers many Americans have to overcome to make sure their voices are heard during the voting process. “America the Voiceless” features in-depth interviews with politicians, activists, historians and everyday people about the hurdles Americans and others living in the U.S. face during the elections.
“This year's presidential election will be one of the most contentious in recent history. While millions will vote, millions more will be rendered voiceless as their right to choose who governs them has either been not granted or stripped away,” said The North Star COO Rai King. “Maria and Nikki will lift these voices as a lead-up to the election. As experienced journalists and adept storytellers, I look forward to their point of view as they take a very personal look at those in our society who have been rendered voiceless.”
“America the Voiceless” released its preview episode today to members and the public alike. The first full episode will be available to the public on August 20. New episodes will air every Thursday on TheNorthStar.com and on all podcasting platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
“America the Voiceless” is hosted by associate editor and producer Maria Elena Perez and senior writer and producer Nikki Rojas.
“Nikki and I wanted to elevate the voices of millions of Americans who cannot participate in the voting process. This upcoming election is important and there are too many Americans who are unable to voice their opinions through a ballot,” said “America the Voiceless” co-host Maria Elena Perez. “I hope this podcast will not only give Americans who cannot vote a platform to express the issues they care most about, but also educate listeners on the importance of voting.”
“Too often the voices of millions of Americans are ignored during election season. I hope this podcast opens people’s eyes to the difficulties faced by everyday Americans who just want to exercise their constitutional right to vote,” said “America the Voiceless” co-host Nikki Rojas. “My dream is that, ‘America the Voiceless’ also gives non-Americans living in the US a platform to talk
about the issues they care most about during the election season.”
You can listen to the preview episode of “America the Voiceless" now on all podcasting platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
